Colorado Attorney General Supports Parental Controls for Internet Safety
According to CBS4Devner.com, Colorado's Attoreny General John Suthers has spearheaded a partnership with a well-known Internet safety organization in an effort to clarify the importance of parental controls for kids today.
Suthers rightly expresses concerns regarding the 400 arrests that have been made in Colorado in the last 4 years for the online solicitation of children.
And this problem isn't going away soon. Suthers goes on to say that while he wishes their law enforcement had made a larger dent in the online crimes aimed at children, "If we had twice as many officers, we'd have twice as many arrests."
This is why parents must be vigilant when their kids have access to the Internet. And the best way to watch over those kids is via parental controls.
Web Wise Kids, the Internet safety organization mentioned in the article, also includes partnership with a software organization that has resulted in a program called Wired with Wisdom.
Wired with Wisdom teaches parents how to keep their kids safe online, including learning email safety, understanding personal web sites, social networking sites, and learning the signs of cyberbullying and online predators.
These, along with standard parental controls that can be purchased for use on any PC, are the best means of keeping kids safe whenever they log on to the Internet.
