What Your Employees are Actually Doing When You're Not in the Office
This article is brought to you by Top Software Reviews and employee monitoring software, because no employer wants to pay you to get off.
Jezebel.com's piece on porn, computers, and modern technology is as funny as it is fascinating. But what caught our eye was this little snippet:
Every minute, almost two million people log on to look at porn - with 70% of that traffic taking place during the 9-5 workday.
Yes that's right, there's a lot of porn happening in the workplace. And we mean a lot.
Aside from the basic fact that most employers shouldn't have to pay for your personal viewing of "Assablanca," porn viewing on the job opens a big, ugly can of worms for business owners and managers.
And that can is labeled "sexual harrassment lawsuit." Those who aren't into their co-worker's on-the-job sexual picadillos have the right to sue their establishment, and they usually win.
And then there's that whole "billable hours" thing, where you're supposed to be paid for working, not analyzing a frame-by-frame of someone else's nether-regions.
All of which explains why employee monitoring software is as useful as it is today. Watch all the porn you want on your own time, but when you're being paid by the man, you better be faithful to him and him only.
