It's true that kids who have pages on social networking sites should avoid listing last names, or showing the locations of their schools, but it can be hard for them to remember such details.
Internet safety is usually the last thing on thier minds when they're chatting with friends online.
And when it comes to cyber bullies, all children are notorious for keeping this type of abuse to themselves.
This is why parental control software is so important today. Yes, it's true that educating your kids regarding Internet safety is very important, but parents shouldn't assume that sexual predators and cyber bullies aren't a danger to their kids.
Parental control software allows parents to double check their child's online safety, and make sure that dangerous or inappropriate individuals aren't taking advantage of their child.
After all, the Internet is as complicated and dangerous as it is enlightening and exciting. Educating your child is a good idea, but keeping an eye on them until they're able to make adult decisions is even better.
